Authorities have identified the victim and suspect in a weekend homicide near DeRidder.

The Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office said the body of Mandy Kirl, 40, was found Sunday in a home on US 190 West, just outside of DeRidder.

Jeremy A. Bunch Sr., of DeRidder, has been arrested on charges of second-degree murder. No bond has been set.

According to Sheriff's Office spokesman Joe Toler, the preliminary autopsy report indicates that Kirl was strangled.

Sheriff Ricky Moses said the 40-year-old Bunch, Kirl's boyfriend, confessed to Caddo Parish Sheriff's officials Saturday afternoon.
