LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Murry Day was sentenced Wednesday on a charge of accessory after the fact to second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.

Day will serve three years in prison with hard labor plus two years probation. He pleaded no contest to the charge in December.

Day is the biological father of the child at the center of Jaime Day's second-degree cruelty to a juvenile trial. Jaime Day, of Lake Charles, was convicted and sentenced to 30 years in prison without the benefit of probation or parole late last year.

Murry Day was facing a maximum sentence of five years. Judge Clayton Davis sentenced Day.
