E-recycle day set for March 22 in Lake Charles

E-Recycle Day will be held March 22 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the McNeese Cowboy Stadium Parking Lot.

Residents are encouraged to recycle electronics that could be hazardous if disposed of with regular garbage.

Items being accepted at the event include the following:

Electronic: computers, monitors, printers, fax machines, keyboards, photocopiers, TVs, VCRs, stereos, home or office phones, mobile phones and consumer electronics.

Mercury-containing: thermostats, thermometers and lamps (including fluorescent, high-intensity discharge, neon, mercury vapor, high pressure sodium and metal halide).

Items that will NOT be accepted include smoke detectors, fire alarms, dehumidifiers, large home appliances (i.e. refrigerators), medical equipment and units with sludge or liquids.

Only residential waste will be accepted.
