LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

A 38-year-old Lake Charles man, a convicted sex offender, has been accused of stalking a former victim, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said James Lee Braxton was arrested Thursday on charges of stalking and unlawful presence or contact of a sex offender with former victim.

Braxton was convicted of forcibly raping a woman in April 2001 in Calcasieu Parish, Myers said.

"In July 2013, deputies were dispatched after receiving a report from a woman advising on numerous occasions, she has observed Braxton near her place of employment, home and other places in the area," Myers said.

Bond was set at $400,000.
