RAGLEY, LA (KPLC) -

A 38-year-old Moss Bluff man is facing charges of cruelty to juveniles and aggravated battery, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Carl Lannye Perkins Jr. was arrested Tuesday after an incident at a Ragley home.

"Deputies discovered during a physical altercation with a teenage family acquaintance, Perkins struck the victim several times with a plastic toy bat and held the victim against a pole in the driveway by putting his hands around his neck," Myers said.

Perkins was released after posting a $3,000 bond set by Judge Robert Wyatt.
