    Over the last couple of weeks someone has been circulating so-called BP oil claim forms in the Lake Charles area. While man, if not most medical claims associated with the Deepwater Horizon oil spill have been settled, someone is holding meetings around the Lake area trying to get people to sign up. But they're not too forthcoming when it comes to saying who they are or who they represent. RAGLEY, LA (KPLC) -

A 38-year-old Moss Bluff man is facing charges of cruelty to juveniles and aggravated battery, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Carl Lannye Perkins Jr. was arrested Tuesday after an incident at a Ragley home.

"Deputies discovered during a physical altercation with a teenage family acquaintance, Perkins struck the victim several times with a plastic toy bat and held the victim against a pole in the driveway by putting his hands around his neck," Myers said.

Perkins was released after posting a $3,000 bond set by Judge Robert Wyatt.
