CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

A 38-year-old Lake Charles man, a convicted sex offender, is facing charges of burglary and failure to register, according to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Steven Paul Burns was arrested early Tuesday morning on charges of simple burglary, unauthorized entry of a place of business, failure to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator and failure to comply with sex offender identification requirements.

Burns, who was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in January 2002, was picked up by Lake Charles Police while on Bilbo Street at 3:52 a.m. Tuesday.

Bond was pending.

Mark Anthony Handy, of Westlake, was arrested with Burns on charges of simple burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Arrest Reports

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office reported the following arrests:

• Peter John Batiste, 48, Lake Charles: drug possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, drug use in presence of minors. Bond: $175,000.

• Latoya Nicole Cyprian, 35, Lake Charles: five counts of marijuana possession with intent to distribute. Bond: $175,000.

• Alexander Hutchinson, 32, Sulphur: simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, first-offense marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $61,500.

• Nathaniel Joseph Conner, 24, Lake Charles: drug possession, first-offense marijuana possession. Bond: $50,000.

• Dylon Tait Smith, 19, Crowley: simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, theft under $500, simple criminal damage to property $500 to $50,000, contributing to the delinquency of minors. Bond: $23,000.

• Brandt Lane Brossette, 27, Sulphur: theft over $1,500, firearm theft, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bond: $22,000.

• Glenn D. Richard Jr., 32, Lake Charles: simple burglary, possession of stolen things over $500. Bond: $22,000.

• Paige Lea Self, 26, Lake Charles: drug possession with intent to distribute. Bond: $20,000.

• Randy Canute Warren, 46, Lake Charles: simple burglary, possession of stolen things, resisting an officer, criminal conspiracy. Bond: $14,000.

• Megan Hope Duhon, 24, Lake Charles: aggravated battery, domestic abuse battery. Bond: $12,000.

• Kalab Patrick LaFleur, 18, Westlake: first-offense marijuana possession, drug possession in a drug-free zone. Bond: $10,000.

• Carl Lannye Perkins Jr., 38, Lake Charles: cruelty to juveniles, aggravated battery.

• Gerell K. Coco, 23, Baton Rouge: two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute.

• Alan Michael Johnson, 22, Baton Rouge: two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute.

• Kirk Dewayne August, 36, Lake Charles: simple burglary, theft under $500, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

• Ivan Lee Ashworth, 18, Sulphur: two counts of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, firearm theft, theft over $1,500.

The Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office reported the following arrests:

• Ricky Aymond, 20, Lake Charles: second-offense marijuana possession. Bond: $20,000.

• Darla Seneca, 49, Maurice: bank fraud. Bond: $15,000.

• Courtney Deal, 31, Ragley: drug possession, driving with a suspended license, disturbing the peace, open-container violation, disturbing the peace. Bond: $10,500.
