Police arrest suspect in See Street shooting

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Lake Charles Police make an arrest in a double shooting. William Christopher Hill, 21, of Lake Charles, was arrested early Saturday morning.

Hill was wanted for a Thursday night shooting that injured two people. Police say they were called to See Street late Thursday in regards to a shooting. Once on the scene they located one victim with non-life threatening injuries. Around the same time, police received word of a second victim at Memorial Hospital.

Through the course of interviewing both victims and witnesses, Hill was identified as the suspect.

Sgt. Richard Harrell said Hill was located Saturday morning hiding at a home on See Street.

Hill was arrested and faces the following charges:

-- Two counts of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder ($700,000 Bond)
-- Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon ($100,000 Bond)
-- Probation Violation (No Bond)

    The man wanted in connection with the theft of a crossbow has been arrested according to a post made on the DeRidder Police Department Facebook page. DeRidder Police Department Paul Thomas Lavan, 49, of Kinder, is charged with theft by shoplifting.
