Fatal train accident; shooting at local nightclub

Good Afternoon,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on for 7 News at Six.

A Vinton teen is killed after being struck by a train. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office says the body of the 13-year-old boy was discovered this morning after the train operator reported hitting something on the tracks.

Plus, a shooting at a local nightclub sends two people to the hospital. A man and woman were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities don't have a suspect and say no witnesses have come forward.

A couple of events targeted the kids today. KPLC's Haley Rush takes us to the Hula Hoop for Heart event. Plus, Bowl for Kids Sake was looking to help raise more than $100,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of SWLA.

Also Nuns & Bikers may be an unlikely pair – but the two groups joined forces for the 4th Annual Run with the Nuns Motorcycle Ride.

And it's time to spring forward tonight. Meteorologist Zack Fradella tells us what we can expect for Daylight Saving Time forecast.

We'll see you tonight at Six for these stories and more. Until then, we're always on at kplctv.com.
