STARKS, LA (KPLC) -

A 53-year-old Starks man has been charged with failure to comply with sex offender identification requirements and driving under suspension for prior DWI, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Keith J. Manuel was arrested early Wednesday morning following a traffic stop at the intersection of La. 109 and Green Moore Road.

"During the investigation, deputies discovered Manuel did not possess any form of identification, which is required by law for all registered sex offenders," Myers said.

Myers said Manuel was convicted of sexual battery in Calcasieu Parish in 2001.

Bond is pending in the case.
