WESTLAKE, LA (KPLC) -

Westlake Police Chief Michael Dickerson has told KPLC that an investigation is under way after at least $100,000 was taken from a local business.

The chief said the money was left unattended or unsecured at the business.

Dickerson said the case involves a burglary and theft within the last couple of weeks.

A 40-year-old Westlake woman was arrested Feb. 21 in connection with the incident, Dickerson said.

Angela Denise Quibodeaux has been booked on a variety of charges including two counts of accessory after the fact, possession of stolen things over $1,500, five counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, compounding a felony and obstruction of justice. She was released Feb. 22 on a $80,000 bond.

Dickerson said four or five more arrests are expected.

Dickerson said a large amount of the money and items allegedly purchased with it have been recovered.
