LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Hundreds of additional resources have been brought in to assist LG&E due to the threat of power outages.

Crews from Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Tennessee were rolling into the LG&E Auburndale Operations Center throughout the day Sunday.

Before they hit the streets the out of town crews will be briefed and going through training.

With the combination of wind and ice on the trees workers are also preparing to work long shifts.

Liz Pratt with LG&E said, "This storm has many different elements. We are continuing to monitor that. We have working for the last several days directly with NWS as well as neighboring utilities to see how this storm has impacted their area as it has moved through."
