La. Attorney General: No criminal wrongdoing by Rodrigue

Posted: Updated:

The Louisiana Attorney General's office has found no criminal wrongdoing on the part of Cameron School Superintendent Stephanie Rodrigue.

State police investigated Rodrigue in connection with a $52,533 payment she received in December 2012. Some school board members and citizens raised questions about the payment and other issues, but the attorney general's office said she was due the money under the terms of her contract.

The other issue investigated had to do with her contract and whether it was properly signed and notarized.  While the AG's office said there are questions about the actual date the contract was signed and notarized, there is "no question as to the intent of the board to approve the Superintendent's contract"

We contacted Rodrigue to see if she had any additional comment.  She referred us to her attorney, David Morgan, who said, "On behalf of Ms. Rodrigue, we appreciate the opportunity to respond.  We believe the Attorney General's report speaks for itself."
