Coushatta Casino fire update, puppy in bag, The Voice preview

Good Monday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here with a look at what's in store on today's Sunrise:

*Coushatta Casino-Resort should fully reopen today after an electrical fire over the weekend.  We'll tell you about the investigation that is underway into what happened, sparking an evacuation on some of the property.

*We have video of a precious puppy that is just a few days old.  It was found alive in a trash bag in Welsh.  Now police there are offering a reward to find out who threw it out.

*NBC's hit show, "The Voice," returns for a new season tonight.  Southwest Louisiana's own Luke Cooper set to be showcased on the singing competition. 

*Crude oil spills into the Mississippi River after two barges collide.  Find out how foggy conditions played into this messy situation.

*Gas prices jump 12 cents in two weeks.  What's behind the surge?  We'll take a look at that report and see if any relief is in sight.

*Meteorologist Ben Terry is tracking a couple of cold fronts this week.  He's saying we could be near freezing temperatures later this week!

    One local fraternity made sure some families in Southwest Louisiana had a fully cooked meal to enjoy for Christmas. "We have turkeys and hams, but it's enough food in the box to feed a family of eight," said  Mark Gallashaw, president of Kappa Alpha Psi's Lake Charles Alumni Chapter. Thirty-five boxes of cooked meals are getting ready to be delivered to families across Southwest Louisiana.

    LCPD: Suspect arrested after vehicle pursuit in Lake Charles

    The Lake Charles Police Department has arrested one person after a nearly 20-minute pursuit Saturday afternoon. LCPD received a call of a person shooting a firearm from a vehicle on the 1900 block of Prejean Drive in the afternoon, said LCPD Deputy Chief Mark Kraus. Police located the vehicle near Hwy 14. A 19-minute pursuit then ensued, and ended with a suspect arrested.
