Chennault vote today, new scam, school uniform debate

Good Wednesday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here with a look at what's in store on today's Sunrise:

*A vote on two new projects at Chennault in Lake Charles is set for this evening.  A 15,000 square foot hangar and a cargo building are on the table for the Executive Board to decide.  We'll tell you the impact the projects could have on the community.

*A new scam warning today has to do with people receiving calls saying there is a warrant for their arrest.  Find out how it drained money from one Louisiana man and the steps you need to take if you think you are being scammed.

*Students across Southwest Louisiana have no choice about wearing school uniforms each day.  But what do they think about it and what is the reason to enforce this policy?  Our Teen Reporter will get those answers.

*The volunteer work of two Vinton High School students is recognized at the City Council's meeting.  Find out what they are doing to help others in their community.

*Today is Financial Aid Awareness Day at McNeese State University.  Get the scoop on what you need to do if you need help paying for college this fall.

    One local fraternity made sure some families in Southwest Louisiana had a fully cooked meal to enjoy for Christmas. "We have turkeys and hams, but it's enough food in the box to feed a family of eight," said  Mark Gallashaw, president of Kappa Alpha Psi's Lake Charles Alumni Chapter. Thirty-five boxes of cooked meals are getting ready to be delivered to families across Southwest Louisiana.

    LCPD: Suspect arrested after vehicle pursuit in Lake Charles

    The Lake Charles Police Department has arrested one person after a nearly 20-minute pursuit Saturday afternoon. LCPD received a call of a person shooting a firearm from a vehicle on the 1900 block of Prejean Drive in the afternoon, said LCPD Deputy Chief Mark Kraus. Police located the vehicle near Hwy 14. A 19-minute pursuit then ensued, and ended with a suspect arrested.
