HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Another snowstorm has come and for the umpteenth time this year we will likely be breaking our backs trying to lift and heave this latest snow off our driveway or walk.

Every snow is different; some is heavy and wet, some is light and fluffy.

WFSB meteorologists said the snow dropped by Winter Storm Easton should be heavy to shovel because it will absorb sleet and rain.

If you want a pass from the doctor, you have it. Dr. Lauren Burke from Hartford Hospital said to avoid shoveling if you can.

Luckily, most snow-removal injuries are muscular in nature, requiring remedies less than surgery.

But we're not all lucky enough to have alternatives. Perhaps getting outside and braving the elements mid-storm is better, so you shovel less than if you wait until the storm is through.

We have to be able to get out of our driveway. So if you must shovel off Winter Storm Easton's weighty snow, sleet and ice, there is a better way.

Burke said "lighter loads are best" and are "easier on your back." You should always bend your knees when shoveling.

If you think the type of shovel matters, it does, but only little bit. It's mainly a matter of preference.
