Over the last couple of weeks someone has been circulating so-called BP oil claim forms in the Lake Charles area. While man, if not most medical claims associated with the Deepwater Horizon oil spill have been settled, someone is holding meetings around the Lake area trying to get people to sign up. NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

A hospital in New Haven helped a couple wed in 24 hours so the bride's terminally-ill mother could be there.

Aly Femia told the website Buzzfeed that she planned to wed her childhood sweetheart Anthony Femia in September of 2015, but learned that Mary Quinn's lung cancer had spread to her brain.

When the bride asked about moving her wedding date, doctors at Yale-New Haven Hospital recommended it happen the next day.

Thanks to the staff at Yale-New Haven Hospital, the couple was able to make it happen Jan. 29, the day after they received the news.

A ceremony was held at the hospital in front of friends and family.

"My favorite part of the day was having my mom see me in my wedding dress, wearing a string of her pearls, and seeing her smile," Aly Femia told Buzzfeed. "I'm so glad that she was there to watch me say ‘I do' and see me marry my best friend."

The hospital donated food, flowers and a cake.

Buzzfeed reported that Quinn passed away Monday morning.
