ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) – A woman drove a vehicle into a grocery store, hitting a cash register and injuring two people, according to Elizabethtown police.

Officers responded to the Kroger, located at 3040 Dolphin Drive, at 3:03 Wednesday after the driver of a 2006 4-door Lincoln sedan drove over the sidewalk and into the building. EPD Chief Tracy Schiller identified the driver as June Blocker, 52.

Blocker allegedly bought the Lincoln earlier Wednesday with the intention of driving it into the store. Police said around 15 years ago she drove into the Kroger located on Towne Drive.

One person who was injured inside the store was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital. The second person was treated at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call EPD at (270) 765-4125.
