BR Zoo Tigers named Denver, Seattle to predict Super Bowl winner

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Two Sumatran tigers at the Baton Rouge Zoo will make predictions for Sunday's Super Bowl game.

The tigers, who are brothers, are named Denver and Seattle.

Zoo officials say they will place two boxes within the Sumatran tiger exhibit; one labeled with "Super bowl Champion" and the other labeled with "Better Luck Next Time." The tigers will be released back into their exhibit and each tiger will choose a box.

It will happen at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014. Saturday the zoo is also offering their buy one get one free admission for Baton Rouge residents.

The offer to buy one regular price admission, get one of equal or lesser value free will be offered for all visitors presenting an official Louisiana driver's license with a recognized Baton Rouge zip code. Valid on February 1, 2014 only. Not valid in combination with any other offer.

The Zoo is located at 3601 Thomas Road in Baton Rouge. The admission gate is open from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., and the zoo closes at 5 p.m.

Adults/Teens: $8.25

Seniors: $7.25

Children ages 2-12: $5.25

Children 1 & under: Free

    Two Sulphur men have been arrested for illegally capturing more than 60 large alligator snapping turtles in Texas and bringing them back into Louisiana.  Rickey Simon and Travis Leger, both of Sulphur, and Jason Leckelt of Oklahoma, have pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to violate the Lacey Act by trafficking alligator snapping turtles into Louisiana.
