LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

State Superintendent of Education John White visited Lake Charles today to share information on a possible new program called Jump Start.

White spent the week traveling to different areas of the state sharing information about the program and getting feedback.

While the proposed program is still a draft, and must be approved by BESE and the state legislature, White is confident it will be approved.

KPLC's Erica Bivens attended tonight's forum and will have the full story tonight on Nightcast.
