BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Four teenagers were arrested on suspicion of making homemade explosives and throwing them at people and houses.

Deputies with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office say 17-year-old Blaine Burkett and three juveniles were playing "ding-dong ditch" in the 16000 block of Chevernt Avenue in Central, but they were throwing homemade bombs at people and houses.

According to reports, around 1:15 a.m., one of the victims heard loud knocking on a window of his home. He told deputies he looked out of the window and saw at least two white males run off toward a silver SUV. The victim said he saw the silver SUV parked outside of his home again around 2:30 a.m. and saw one of the suspects throw something towards his house and drive off.

The victim told deputies that several seconds later, he heard an explosion in his front yard and he saw debris fly into the air. The victim followed the silver SUV to a home about five houses down.

Deputies arrived at the victim's home and saw the debris from the explosion and drove to the house where the silver SUV was parked. The deputy, according to the report, says he saw household cleaning supplies, aluminum foil and several Gatorade bottles inside the vehicle.

Deputies located Blaine Burkett at the home and he openly admitted that he and two juveniles were responsible for the explosion. He told deputies they were playing a game of "ding-dong ditch" with three juvenile friends. He admitted to deputies that each of the juveniles purchased different items to make the bombs.

Burkett told deputies he drove the juveniles to a BREC park where they built and exploded two homemade bombs. He also admitted to deputies that they then egged numerous parked cars before deciding to make two additional bombs.

The second set of bombs were thrown at a group of people at their home while they were sitting around a fire in the backyard, which Burkett admitted that he and one of the juveniles were responsible.

Burkett told deputies he and the juvenile drove back to his home where they changed vehicles and drove to the victim's house down the street. The report says that the group created another bomb in the SUV while parked outside of the victim's house. Burkett told deputies that one of the juveniles threw the bottle toward the victim's home.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Burkett was taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He was released Saturday after posting bond. He was charged with manufacturing and possession of a bomb and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

The juveniles were taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Detention Center.
