Officials dedicate Purple Heart Park

Good Afternoon,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on today.

We'll have updates on two stories we first told you about on Nightcast. The first, a woman mauled by pit bulls at a local business. At last check she's in critical condition at a Houston hospital. The second, a man accused of a bizarre crime spree in Moss Bluff, including attacking a dog.

Also, local heroes were honored today in Ragley as officials dedicated the Purple Heart Memorial Park. KPLC's Haley Rush is there and will have this story.

And the Color Vibe 5K comes to Lake Charles. Runners took to the streets for more than just a workout. Once finished they were covered in head to toe paint.  KPLC's Erica Bivens shows you the real life canvases.

Plus, we'll also take you down to Cameron for the annual Fur and Wildlife Festival.

Fortunately the rain has cleared and Saturday and Sunday are looking really good. Meteorologist Zack Fradella has your forecast.

We'll see you tonight at Six for these stories and more. Until then, we're always on at kplctv.com.
