I-10 WB near Quartzsite reopens following fatal crash

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 about 20 miles east of Quartzsite have reopened following a deadly crash, an Arizona Department of Transportation spokesman said.

Two people were killed in the two-car collision that was reported at 3:52 a.m. Friday, said an Arizona Department of Public Safety officer.

Westbound traffic was detoured at Vicksburg Road (exit 45), where drivers reached U.S. Highway 60 westbound to return to I-10, the ADOT spokesman said.

The westbound lane reopened about 4:30 p.m. Friday.

    A large police presence was on Third Street, near La. 14, Thursday morning after receiving a call of a possible kidnapping, said Lt. Richard Harrell, with the Lake Charles Police Department. The person who was the target of the alleged kidnapping is an adult an is in police care, Harrell said. Harrell said Lake Charles police and members of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office searched for the suspect, but were unable to locate the person. Copyright 2018 KPLC. All rights reserved.
