Military mom surprises kids at Keithville school

KEITHVILLE, LA (KSLA) -

A couple of Keithville Elementary-Middle School students got a sweet surprise Thursday morning, when their mother dropped in on them during an assembly.

Army Specialist Ebony Stinson has been away for a year, serving her second tour in Iraq.

Jerrmiah Green is in kindergarten at Keithville EMS, and 6-year-old Makayla Gay is 1st grade. Stinson also has a niece, Sha'Brittany Rose, at the school.

She says she just couldn't wait for her children to get home, so she arranged to show up at the school."It was a good feeling, a feeling I've been waiting for since last year. It was a good feeling!"

Stinson is returning from a tour in Afghanistan.

Monday morning didn't get off to a good start for Zack Saucier. "First thing, I noticed that my truck wasn't in the spot that it's normally located," he said. "Then all of the sudden I looked over to my wife's vehicle and her two sisters and realized that they had been broken into." Saucier's Dodge Ram pickup truck was stolen overnight and the others were rummaged through, only a purse was taken from his wife's vehicle.  "I had all of sudden a huge sin...
