Funeral services set for victims of Lake Charles murder-suicide

Funeral services have been set for the victims in Wednesday's murder-suicide that took place on Arlington Drive in Lake Charles. More information on the incident is available HERE.

Services for 32-year-old Kody Todd Fontenot will be held on at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Father Sensat Celebrant will officiate. Ardoin's Funeral Home is in charge of ceremonies.

Services for 25-year-old Mia Katherine Trahan will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Kaplan Cemetery. Reverend Kendal Faulk will officiate. Vincent Funeral Home is in charge of ceremonies.

    The Lake Charles Care Center is teaming up with Harbor Hospice for a one-day coat drive aimed at keeping every senior citizen in Calcasieu Parish warm this winter. Their goal is to collect as many coats as possible. Lake Charles Care Center Marketing Director Keely Davidson said the need is great because many of the seniors who arrive at the home sometimes arrive with just the clothes on their back and some of them do not have family or family nearby to depend on.     Over a month ago KPLC  told you about audit issues happening in the town of Fenton.  Mayor Eddie Alfred's payroll records for last year showed he was overpaid over $12,000.  Tuesday night the village held their city council meeting where they reviewed last year's audit.  No comments were coming from Fenton Mayor Eddie Alfred or auditor Coy Vincent.  Tuesday night Fenton city council met to review the town's audit from last year.  Back in late October...More >>
