Police: Juvenile steals, crashes Sulphur City truck

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

Sulphur Police say a 14-year-old juvenile is accused of stealing and crashing a City of Sulphur truck.

The 2009 white Ford F-150 club cab was reported stolen from the Sulphur Water Treatment plant Friday night around 9:30 p.m. after a worker left the keys in the ignition.

According to Police, the vehicle was spotted around midnight on Highway 90. After attempting to stop the truck, officers engaged in a small pursuit. The driver eventually pulled off into a trailer park before crashing into two parked cars.

The juvenile was taken into custody. He now faces the following charges: theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated flight from an officer, reckless operation, no driver's license and resisting arrest.

    Twelve jurors have been picked in the trial of Stacy Tyrone Johnson Jr., accused of first-degree murder in the death of Robert "Bob" Colston Sr. Johnson, who is now 17 but was 16 at the time of the crime, is expected to go to trial once alternates for the jury are picked.
