SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

A Sulphur man has been charged with aggravated assault, cruelty to a juvenile, and disturbing the peace, after deputies with Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance at a home on Estelle Drive on Tuesday.

Upon arrival at the residence, deputies were advised that Larry P. Vincent, 61, of Sulphur, went to his neighbor's home to confront her about keeping her dog quiet.

Vincent was armed with a metal pipe, and during the confrontation, a verbal altercation with the victim occurred. According to investigators, Vincent threatened to hit the victim with the pipe several times.

"Deputies also discovered during the altercation, Vincent choked a juvenile family member of the victim, causing several red marks on both sides of his throat," said Kim Myers, Spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Office.

Vincent was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, with his bond set at $3,500 by Judge Robert Wyatt.
