Good morning!

Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

You hear about shoplifting all the time, but what would you say to a woman walking into a pet store and putting an animal in her purse? It happened in St. Tammany Parish, and we'll "ferret" out the story at noon, or you can read about it HERE.

If you recently bought a card table and chair set, you may want to check out the brand. We'll tell you about recall of the items after reports of finger injuries – including amputation.

Also today, some students personally affected by gun violence are hoping to do something special to combat the problem. We'll show you how they are putting together their very own documentary.

Plus, a five-year-old girl is being called a hero after her quick action saves her great-grandmother.  The woman had collapsed and fallen unconscious.

In weather, Ben tells me today's high temperature will only climb into the upper 40's by this afternoon – despite the abundant sunshine. We'll have a bit of a warm-up over the weekend, but look out for next week. By Sunday, look for temperatures to begin to drop, and you may want to get prepared for very cold temperatures. Just what can we expect? Check out Ben's live, local forecast at noon for all the answers, and you can always access the latest weather info HERE.

Remember, you can always watch us online at kplctv.com and on air.  We hope you join us, and have a great day and a wonderful weekend!
