Two men suspected in burglaries and thefts

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Lake Charles Police have arrested two men suspected in several thefts and burglaries.

On Saturday, December 28, 2013, at approximately 7:49 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 1400 block of Watkins in reference to two subjects stealing bicycles from a resident.

Officers located the subjects in the area of Hodges and 7th Street. During the investigation, police located a backpack containing numerous stolen items. The officers were able to locate the owners and return the stolen items.

Officers were able to solve at least three burglaries and thefts from vehicles and residences in the area of Watkins and Engleside. 

Arrested were:

Christopher Pattum, 21, of Lake Charles, with bond set at $22,500.

Cleveland Carter, 20, of Lake Charles, with bond set at $17,500.

Pattum was charged with:
2 counts of Burglary
2 counts of Illegal Possession of Stolen Things
3 counts of Theft
1 count of  Criminal Trespassing

Carter Charged with:
2 counts of Burglary
3 counts of Theft
1 count of  Criminal Trespassing
