LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

An off-duty Lake Charles police officer was involved in, but not responsible for, a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Lake Street and Prien Lake Road Wednesday night.

Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said a driver pulled out in front of the marked police unit, causing the crash.

Kraus said the driver was ticketed for failure to yield and that the driver of the third vehicle was treated for injuries at a local hospital.

The Lake Charles Police Department declined KPLC's request for a copy of the video captured by the police cruiser's dash camera, citing a pending traffic court case.
