Major storm damage reported in N. Mississippi

(WMC-TV) - Major storm damage is being reported in parts of North Mississippi.

According to DeSoto County spokesman Dick Hackett, trees are reportedly blocking Highway 51 south of Hernando. Fogg Road at Davis Lane is closed and there are power outages in the area.

A Tunica County deputy also reports that a house has blown into the road in the southern part of Tunica County.

Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance reports that Highway 4 East is blocked. Palestine Road is also blocked as the result of a storage shed that blew into the street.

Here is a list of damages sorted by county from the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency:

Bolivar: Damage to homes. Trees down and power outages.

Coahoma: One death and damage to several homes.

Desoto: Damage to homes. Trees down and power outages.

Jasper: One death and injury reported. Trees down.

Lafayette: Trees and power lines down.

Marshall: Reports of an injuries, damage to homes, power outages and trees down.

Panola: Reports of injuries and damage to homes. Trees down and power outages.

Perry: Damage to a home.

Tate: Damage to homes and businesses.

Tunica: Reports of injuries and damage to homes and a church. Power lines down.

Union: Damage to a home and power outages.

    The Chennault International Airshow is almost here! Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Friday and the first show begins at dusk.
