A 38-year-old Lake Charles man, a registered sex offender, has been accused of having sexual contact with an 8-year-old.

Calcasieu Parish Sherriff's Office spokesman James McGee said Luther J. Deel was arrested Friday and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and failure to comply with sex offender identification requirements.

"On Friday, deputies were dispatched to a local mobile home park in reference to a complaint," McGee said Monday in a news release. "(The alleged victim) lived in the same park as Deel. Deputies discovered Deel failed to provide his full address on his Louisiana sex offender identification card."

Deel was convicted of sexual battery of a 7-year-old girl in Calcasieu Parish in February 2003, McGee said.

Judge Ron Ware set Deel's bond at $6,000.

It's no fun getting a pay raise only to have it eaten up by an increase in your bills, which is what's happening with federal tax reform in Louisiana. If you noticed a small increase in your pay check from federal tax reform, it may be fleeting as state taxes go up. The Louisiana constitution says if federal taxes go down, state taxes go up.
