Common Core discussed at tonight's CPSB meeting

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish School Board met Tuesday night and adopted a two-page resolution regarding the transition period for Common Core.

The Resolution reflects the board's concern regarding the implementation of Common Core and the PARCC Assessment.

Basically, it requests that teachers and students do not have negative consequences of the more rigorous standards.

The resolution was adopted Tuesday and copies will be sent to Gov. Bobby Jindal, State Superintendent of Education John White, members of BESE, all members of the Louisiana Legislature and all public school systems in Louisiana.
