The City of Lake Charles is ready for Christmas. From the Christmas lights, lighted boat parade, and fireworks over the lake – KPLC's Erica Bivens has us covered on the "Light Up the Lake" ceremony.
Plus, if you were out there enjoying that ceremony, we hope you were bundled up because it is COLD. Meteorologist Cedric Haynes will tell us how cold it will get overnight and what we can expect for our Sunday.
And it's much colder in the Dallas area, where an ice storm left more than 200,000 people without power. We'll show the effort to get power restored.

New details emerge about two Vinton high school trailers stolen in broad daylight, Sunday. Vinton Police Chief Ricky Fox says they have narrowed down the search to a suspect with a long criminal history out of Port Arthur last seen by law enforcement driving the same car as seen in the video. There is "a lot of damage" in Oakdale following a strong storm system that is moving through the area, said Chief of Police Joseph Lockett. Lockett said he believes a tornado touched down near Walmart on 165. Whether it was a tornado or high winds, it did a lot of damage. The roof of the Country Inn Motel was partially torn off. The tin roof covering the gas pumps at the Murphy USA station was torn off. Lockett said no injuries are currently being reported. Copyright&nb...More >>
