The man leading the Auburn Tigers to the team's biggest, and fastest turnaround is being eyed for Coach of the Year accolades.

In addition to being in the lead for the Liberty Mutual Insurance Coach of the Year Award [Vote Here], coach Gus Malzahn is one of three finalists being named for the Maxwell Football Club's Collegiate Coach of the Year Award.

The other finalists in the MFC award are David Cutcliffe of Duke and Gary Pinkel of Missouri. Malzahn and Pinkel will square-off Saturday in the SEC Championship game in Atlanta.

Cutcliffe has led Duke to its first 10-win season in school history and an ACC Coastal Division title. Duke (10-2, 6-2 in the ACC) will play No. 1 Florida State (12-0, 8-0) Saturday.

In just his first year at Auburn and just the second year of his career as a head coach at the collegiate level, Malzahn turned the Tigers' 3-9 team of 2012 into a powerhouse 11-1 team the next year topping off the season with a historic, last second win over undefeated, reigning 2-time national champion Alabama.

Malzahn's Tigers are currently ranked No. 3 in the BCS standings behind No. 2 Ohio State and No. 1 Florida State.

Pinkel has led Mizzou's turnaround in 2013, much like Auburn, to end the regular season 11-1. The Missouri Tigers are the SEC East Champions and are currently ranked No. 5 in the BCS standings.

The winner will be named on December 19, 2013.
