BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Campus police departments at 10 state universities in Louisiana are getting nearly 150 radios from the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
The state agency said Friday that a $305,000 federal grant is covering the cost of the radios, which can either be carried by officers or mounted in patrol vehicles.
The list of schools receiving radios includes Grambling, Louisiana Tech, Nicholls State University, McNeese State, Southern University, Southeastern Louisiana University and the University of New Orleans.
