Press release regarding shooting outside of Longview nightclub

Released by the Longview Police Department:

On November 17, 2013 at 1:43 a.m., Longview Police were dispatched to a shooting just occurred in the parking lot of a nightclub located in the 4700 Block of West Loop 281. When officers arrived they found the victim, a 21 year-old Hispanic male in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Both suspects fled the scene prior to officers arrival. The suspects are believed to be two males. One of the suspects is believed to be approximately 5'6" tall and was possibly wearing a blue hoodie. At this time police believe the motive for this attack was robbery. If anyone has information about this crime they are asked to contact Longview Police Detective David Cheatham at 903-237-1199.

    Police are urging everyone to not leave firearms unattended in their vehicles. The Lake Charles Police Department stated that between Jan. 1, 2018 and Feb. 16, 2018 there have been a total of 27 vehicle burglaries where a firearm has been stolen. That means 27 firearms are in the hands of a thief that could possibly be resold or used to commit a violent crime. The police officers must then come into contact with these violent offenders and result in a possible armed confrontatio...
