2 shot, including alleged accomplice, 6 arrested in attempted robbery

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Two people were shot, including a 16-year-old girl, during an attempted robbery in Antioch early Friday, and six people have been arrested in connection to the shooting.

Police say the teen who was shot, Shatoria Bitton, was an alleged accomplice in the robbery plot and was apparently struck by an errant gunshot.

She is listed in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The other person shot, 23-year-old Jamarrius Kelly, was the intended robbery victim, police said, and he was treated and released from Vanderbilt after suffering a non-critical gunshot wound to his back.

Investigators say Kelly had been out Thursday night with Jerica Taylor, who he thought to be a young adult, but who is actually 15. When Kelly drove Taylor to her home on Bridgecrest Drive, the alleged attempted robbery occurred and shots were fired.

Kelly, who was wounded, drove himself to a convenience store on Eagle View Boulevard, where he called for help.

At the Bridgecrest Drive home, police arrested Taylor, along with her twin brother Joshua Taylor, 19-year-old Jacob Bryant and 18-year-old Braze Roland Rucker.

Officers also recovered a pistol at the home.

Bitton was found wounded in the yard at Bridgecrest Drive.

Later, a vehicle believed to also be involved in the crime was found at the dead end of Bridgecrest Drive near Pebble Creek Drive.

There, police arrested 16-year-old Marvin Bryant, who is Jacob Bryant's brother, and found a semi-automatic pistol under the car.

Another suspect, Sean Michael Lynch, 19, allegedly fled the vehicle on foot and was later arrested after leaving a wooded area on Pebble Creek Drive.

The following charges have been filed, and all six people remain in custody Friday evening:

  • Jerica Taylor is charged with especially aggravated robbery. She was held in the juvenile detention facility.
  • Joshua Taylor is charged with especially aggravated robbery. She was held in the juvenile detention facility.
  • Marvin Bryant is charged with especially aggravated robbery. She was held in the juvenile detention facility.
  • Sean Michael Lynch, 19, of Union Hill Road, is charged with two counts of attempted murder, especially aggravated robbery, evading arrest and probation violation. His bond is set at $1.16 million.
  • Braze Roland Rucker, 18, of Bell Road, is charged with two counts of attempted criminal homicide and one count of especially aggravated robbery. His bond is set at $1.15 million.
  • Jacob Bryant, 19, of Northwind Court in Goodlettsville, is charged with one count of aggravated robbery. His bond is set at $150,000.
