SWLA honors Lt. Douglas Fournet with lakefront memorial

Good Evening,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on today.

Southwest Louisiana honored our veterans this weekend, including a Lake Charles native who gave his life in Vietnam. KPLC's Haley Rush was there as the life and legacy of Lt. Douglas Fournet was honored with a memorial on the lakefront.

Plus, Red, White, & Blue flew proudly in Sulphur as they honored veterans with a big parade and ceremony. KPLC's Monica Grimaldo has the story.

Also, hundreds of people were up early on this chilly morning for the SWLA American Heart Association's annual Heart Walk.

And if you're loving this weather… find out how long it will stick around. Meteorologist Cedric Haynes will have your forecast.

We'll see you tonight at Six for these stories and more. Until then, we're always on at kplctv.com.
