CANTON, TX (KLTV) -

The initial call came in from a patrol officer who saw a flash of light just before 4am Saturday. Authorities say flames were up to 80 feet high and the width of the fire was around 80 yards. At least 25 people were evacuated from the scene of that fire this morning.

Authorities also tell KLTV that nobody is allowed to go back to their homes or stores in the area for at least another 48 hours.

People who are waiting for more information in the area are currently waiting at the Old Mill Marketplace. The American Red Cross is also on the scene providing food, water and blankets.

17 different agencies responded to the scene, and we are being told that officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is on the scene.

Dry weather expected for SundayDry weather expected for Sunday

Tonight, the showers will start to wind down. There should not be much rain left after midnight. Clouds will linger overnight. It will still be a muggy night, with temperatures not cooling down very much. I’m forecasting a low of 59 degrees, but it may not cool down that far overnight. By Sunday, the same front that stalled over us, will begin to weaken. Therefore, I do not think there will be many showers around. I’m keeping a 20% for a little bit of drizzle overnight.
