Good morning!

Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

Members of the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education are visiting four Calcasieu Parish schools today. We'll explain the purpose of their visit.

Speaking of local schools, some Lake Charles students are getting the chance to learn about C-SPAN's programs and resources. One big focus – a new series on First Ladies.

Also today, a scare at Birmingham Alabama's International Airport – just days after the deadly shooting at L.A.X. calls into question airport security. How safe are we at the airport?

One woman definitely wasn't safe at a gas station. Her husband set her on fire there! Check out video and more HERE.

Plus, a Florida man entered a local contest on a whim and walked away with the blue ribbon. Now, he's got a brownie business to call his own.

In weather, Ben says expect some sun mixed with clouds today with temperatures rising to the mid to upper 70s this afternoon. We could see a couple  of isolated showers as well today. What about tonight and tomorrow? Ben will have all the details during his live, local forecast at noon.

Remember, you can always watch us online at kplctv.com and on air. We hope you join us, and have a great day!
