Double shooting in Lake Charles under investigation

Good Monday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here in the KPLC 7Newsroom with a look at what's ahead on today's Sunrise:

*An investigation is underway after a double shooting in the 1000 block of W.18th Street in Lake Charles.  We'll tell you what LCPD is saying about the shooting any potential motive.

*The man accused of murdering three people at a park in Lake Charles earlier this year is set to go on trial today. We'll tell you why the Calcasieu DA's Office has decided not to seek the death penalty against Armonta Hadnot.

*Healthcare.gov is now down from midnight until 4:00 every morning for maintenance, as experts try to figure out why it's working so slowly for millions of Americans trying to get insurance.  Find out how the website failures could affect this week's elections.

*Houston Texans' Head Coach Gary Kubiak collapses on his way to the locker room during half-time against the Colts.  We'll have the latest information on his condition.

*The blown-out well near Kinder is capped and under control this morning.  A Hilcorp Energy spokesperson says the incident is still under investigation and they are working to identify the cause.

    The Army Corps of Engineers plans to issue the necessary permits for the Bayou Bridge pipeline, according to a news release from the office of Congressman Clay Higgins. The news release said Colonel Michael Clancy, of the Army Corps of Engineers, announced Thursday that the New Orleans District has concluded its environmental assessment and will issue necessary permits to Bayou Bridge Pipeline, LLC.     Defense attorneys for Kevin Daigle were in state court on Friday asking for his trial to be delayed again and that the judge choose a different place to pick a jury. Daigle also was in court. He's accused of first-degree murder of State Trooper Steven Vincent in 2015.
