IOWA, LA (KPLC) -

Three people were charged with simple battery after a so-called family feud turned physical near Iowa.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office was called to the Oak Hurst Trailer Park off Highway 90 around 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

According to officials, two brothers and one of their wives showed up to the home of the father and began arguing.

In an attempt to defend himself, the father grabbed a knife. Sheriff's officials said when the argument turned physical, the woman got cut. They say the cut was not intentional.

Randolph Combs, 31; Jack Watson, 26; and Britney Watson, 29 -- all of Iowa -- were charged with simple battery and released on a misdemeanor summons.

Officials did not charge the father because they said he was trying to defend himself.
