Welcome to Raycom News Network's live blog from SEC Media Days in Hoover, AL.
In 2013, nine teams brought a quarterback to SEC Media Days. This year only five are scheduled to do so. Only one of those players – Ole Miss’ Bo Wallace – was a full-time starter in 2013.
LSU linebacker Lamin Barrow is one of 12 finalists for the Butkus Award, given annually to the nation's top college linebacker. The semifinalists were announced Monday and selected by a 51-person panel comprised of scouts, coaches and journalists.
Also named to the list from the SEC is Alabama linebacker CJ Mosley.
Barrow has led the LSU defense with 64
total tackles, including three tackles in the backfield and 1.5 sacks.
Mosley has recorded 59 tackles
in 2013, including 30 solo stops, to go along with 5.5 tackles for loss
and a sack for No. 1 Alabama.
Barrow and Mosley will meet in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, November 9th.
With offenses becoming increasingly explosive, plugging the holes is more imperative than ever. It's no surprise Alabama and Florida top the list, but the rest of the rankings may surprise you.
