McNeese Recap after Defeat of Nicholls State

coming off such an emotional win against Sam Houston state, it's easy to expect Mcneese to come out sluggish against Nicholls, but they did no such thing. With a business like focus throughout the entire game, and the result being a 55 to 30 resounding win over the Colonels.

"It's a good win for us moving forwards, you know I've been emphasizing the players: as long as you're winning. I have no idea who is playing who this week and you don't need an idea, you just need to know who the next opponent is."

"We came out with energy, everybody bought in to the whole 'lets get this done' and came out victorious."

And the star unit of the day was special teams, with big plays on returns and kickoffs, including a third quarter touchdown by freshman Khalil Thomas.

"We knew we had the athletes to do it, but we knew we could do better. and we did that today. we turned the field about three or four times. It was big. We only had to go 20 or 30 yards to get a few touchdowns, so that's always huge"

And after such a resounding win today, it's easy to ask yourself, 'Can this Mcneese team be rattled by anyone on the way to their main goal: a Southland title?'

"Any given day somebody can come out and beat us, but I feel like it really is up to us. We hold our own destiny, and I feel like everybody is coming out with a great attitude. Knowing that each game is a championship.

Next week is a battle of the top two teams in the Southland, as Southeastern comes into town to face McNeese. at your service in Thibodaux.
