'Rebuilding Together Calcasieu' helping less fortunate

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Volunteers gave up their Saturday to help a family in need. Employees of Capital One Bank teamed up with "Rebuilding Together Calcasieu" to repaint a home on North General Wainwright.

After scraping off the old paint, they got to work and put on a fresh new coat. The volunteers say it feels good to help those less fortunate.

"We just want to give back to the community. The community has been great to us and gives to us all year long. It's our chance to turn around and help the people who help us. We just ask that everybody give to their community to make a better place to live," said Fil Bordelon, Capital One Bank Lake Charles Area President.

Saturday ended a full week of volunteer efforts by Capital One employees.

This was actually one of two rebuilds taking place through Rebuilding Together Calcasieu. The other was in DeQuincy and was made possible by volunteers with Sulphur First Baptist Church.
