AUBURN, Ala. – No. 11 Auburn went through a two-hour workout at the Auburn Athletics Complex practice fields on Wednesday in preparation for Saturday's non-conference finale vs. Florida Atlantic.
"We had a solid practice tonight," said Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn. "We focused on third downs. They guys responded better today. I told them on Tuesday that we really overall weren't locked in enough. The guys responded and came back, and we had a solid practice and that is encouraging to see."
Auburn (6-1, 3-1 SEC) has posted the biggest turnaround in the nation through seven games after being 1-6 last season. With a bye last weekend, Florida Atlantic (2-5, 1-4 C-USA) comes in after losing to C-USA East Division leader Marshall 24-23 two weeks ago. The Owls have won at South Florida 28-10 and at UAB 37-23.
Kickoff for the Auburn-Florida Atlantic game is at 6:30 p.m. Central on Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium, and it will be televised by FSN. The 1983 SEC Champion Auburn Tigers will be honored during pregame festivities, and members of the team will visit with fans in the Verizon Wireless Autograph Tent next to Plainsman Park two hours before the game.
Single-game tickets for the Florida Atlantic game are still available and can be purchased online at AUBTIX.com
