Darrell Willis joined KPLC in May 2013 as part of an internship program and was upgraded to reporter in September 2013.

He graduated from the University of North Texas where he double majored in Radio, Television and Film, and Sociology.

While in school, Darrell volunteered for the local college station, North Texas Television, where he served as reporter, anchor and producer for many of the live broadcasts that aired weekly. Darrell applied for and was accepted into the Raycom Media Fellowship Program which is how he came to reside in Southwest Louisiana.

Along with volunteering for North Texas Television, he also worked for the Hall Association as a part of UNT's housing department. He was also active in many intramural sports, including basketball and softball.

During his free time, Darrell likes to hang out with his soon-to-be wife, Brittany. He's also a huge basketball fan and his favorite NBA team is the Dallas Mavericks as he is from the Dallas area. He loves getting to know people, so if you see Darrell in town feel free to say hello.
