Man suspect in fatal DWI crash free on bond

Good Afternoon,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on for Nightcast.

State Police say impairment is suspected in the early morning accident the claimed the life of an 18-year-old Lake Charles girl and sent another passenger to the hospital. The driver is free on bond tonight and facing a long list of charges.

Plus, it's also an election day. Polls across Southwest Louisiana close in less than an hour. Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes did not have anything on the ballot, but we'll have results from Beauregard, Allen, Jeff Davis and Vernon Parishes when polls close at 8 p.m.

Also, it's McNeese Homecoming 2013. The Cowboys face Sam Houston State. We'll have highlights from the game.

And fans heading to the big game will likely need a light jacket as temperatures begin to plunge. Meteorologist Cedric Haynes tells us how long the cooler weather will stick around.

We'll see you tonight at Ten for these stories and more. Until then, we're always on at kplctv.com.
