Impairment suspected in early morning fatal crash

Good Afternoon,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on this Saturday.

An early morning crash claims the life of an 18-year-old Lake Charles girl. The driver was arrested and is now facing serious charges after authorities suspect impairment to be a factor in the crash.

Plus, it's grown to one of the largest walks in the state. KPLC's Monica Grimaldo was there early this morning with thousands of supporters for the Ethel Precht Breast Cancer Walk.

And it's Homecoming for McNeese State University. We check in with tailgaters and have a live pre-game report from Cowboy Stadium.

Also Meteorologist Cedric Haynes is on duty and will have your Homecoming forecast.

We'll see you tonight at Six for these stories and more. Until then, we're always on at kplctv.com.

It's a tug of war that's bound to make some residents in south Lake Charles unhappy.  A proposed townhouse complex has already been approved but there's a request to change how future residents will get in and out. Some believe Country Club Road is the better option, to avoid disrupting quiet neighborhoods in that area. But the realtor says they want to avoid congestion on an already busy road. Stanley road is at times so quiet, all you can hear are the crickets....
