SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

With third year head coach Mike Greene, the Fair Park football team has indeed experienced greener pastures. Greene has turned the Indians into a District power and only the future will tell what other accomplishments are in store.

The Indians are a perfect 6-0 on the season following Friday's win over Benton. Those 6 wins equal the total from the last two years combined and also ensures Fair Park's first winning season since 1995.

Greene says the buzz around the school has been amazing, the alumni base is excited and he points to one particular reason for their success.

He says "I have a lot of really smart kids and I knew, I like those smart kids playing football because you can do some things and some adjustments and some things that you couldn't otherwise. Coaches don't make tackles and we don't score touchdowns. These guys have done it, I just there kind of enjoying it with them."

Fair Park has a huge test at home against 5-1 Northwood on Thursday.
